The majority of our work is from repeat clients. We’re not big on advertising or PR - recommendations and our reputation speak for us.
Established over ten years ago by Abe and Justin, we are known for being straight-talking no nonsense architects and planners.
We’re convinced that the secret of a successful project is in understanding our clients’ needs at the outset and doing the right level of due diligence to get to grips with what planning and design hurdles we will need to overcome.
Then, when we’re fully armed with a solid understanding of the planning and technical constraints, we love to get creative with design so that we can get the most out of a site for our clients.

Abe — Director
Abe established Mohsin Cooper with Justin in 2010 when they both realised that they could probably do things better together than working for other architectural practices. 12 years on, they’ve grown a business that listens to clients’ needs and also delivers high quality design. They’ve also grown geographically, with offices in Hove, South West London and Cheltenham.
Abe is experienced in sustainable architecture and is a well-respected advocate for sustainable placemaking. He is co-chair of the Eastbourne Council design review panel, an invited critic for the South East Regional Design Review Panel and supports the University of Brighton’s School of Architecture and Design.
Abe runs our Hove office and provides strategic guidance at the outset of projects across the business to ensure we deliver the client’s vision. He loves the variety of clients he gets to work with, thriving off the fact that every project is different and there’s always a new problem to solve.
Alongside running the practice with Justin, Abe plays the drums in an instrumental surf band, and enjoys cycling.

Justin — Director
Together with Abe, Justin set up Mohsin Cooper in 2010 and runs the London office. His strengths lie in understanding the technical constraints of projects and carrying out the right due diligence to avoid hurdles later down the line.
Justin is motivated by getting under the skin of a project and really understanding what makes his clients tick. Only once their key priorities are clear does the architectural design follow, to make sure it meets the brief in terms of time and cost as well as quality.
He also understands how important positive communication with planners is to a successful design. At the Lee Court project in Lewisham, London, Justin delivered a scheme that achieved consent on its first time through planning committee because of the collaborative relationship he built with the planners.
Justin is a keen tennis player and also a prolific and accomplished watercolour painter, focussing on inner city scenes as well as nature.

Nathan — Projects Director
Joining the team in 2013 and bringing a wealth of experience with him, Nathan has a broad design sensibility and appreciates how architecture sits alongside graphic design, interior design, wayfinding and branding.
Nathan provides guidance and input where needed on a wide range of projects. He helps challenge briefs, resolve technical issues and develop concepts that meet client objectives.
Design is his focus and he loves working with interesting clients who appreciate the value that good design offers. Nathan’s area of expertise lies in housing developments and high-spec householder projects. His recent work on the Grade II listed Embassy project in Hyde Park was an exciting example of delivering both interior design and architectural design at a highly sensitive site.
Outside of the office, Nathan is a keen cyclist and has travelled widely taking part in cycling sportives abroad.

Alex — Head of Planning
Alex is a rare breed: a chartered planner who has not only worked client-side and in private practice, but also has experience of both brownfield and greenfield developments. For McCarthy & Stone his focus was on delivering town centre redevelopments and at Strutt & Parker he dealt with Green Belt and heritage issues on rural estates.
Alex oversees planning consultancy services across our London, Hove and Cheltenham offices. He helps developers unlock sites and add value through plan promotion, devising planning strategies and coordinating major planning applications.
Over the years he’s worked with many different architects, but after joining the Mohsin Cooper team in 2019 it’s clear to him that working in-house with architects is the best way to deliver projects ultimately saving clients time and money.
In his spare time Alex enjoys sport (both watching and getting involved) and also has a love for cars – the more gadgets the better!
