Kemp Town new build mixed use

Upper Bedford St, Brighton

We took this mixed use new build scheme from inception to completion, gaining planning consent first time round. It regenerates a challenging brownfield site upon which was a redundant and dilapidated public house.

The scheme includes office space to the ground floor and a mix of nine 1, 2 & 3 bedroom flats above. The palette of materials includes blue engineering brick to the ground floor, buff multi-stock brick to the upper floors and natural zinc bays to the residential accommodation. The building sets back from the public highway to create defensible landscaped space and planters, which assist in softening the edge of the building from the streetscene.

The project was completed on time and on budget in September 2014.
