Refurb / extension to former police station into apartments

Grove Road, Eastbourne

We secured planning consent for the refurbishment and extension of the former Police Station in the heart of Eastbourne town centre, creating 50 new residential apartments.

This imposing 1930’s Civic building is located next to the Grade II Listed Eastbourne Town Hall. The design proposals allow for the renewal and upgrade of the existing building and the enhancement of the existing Townscape.

The design will sensitively restore the Grove Road elevation, with new steel windows proposed, maintaining its contribution to the streetscape. The existing building has been re-designed to include recessed balconies and enlarged window openings. The new build wing makes good use of left over space to the East of the site, maximising the site’s development potential and replacing a dilapidated later extension.
